How To : Watch T.V Shows On The Wii

I, like many of you, own a Nintendo Wii. Now, despite Ninty's insistence they're all about gaming and not multimedia, i've found the wii to be more media-concious than my 360 for one reason : THE BROWSER. With the Wii browser i am able to view endless amounts of T.V shows on my T.V for FREE, and if it's South Park, it's even semi-legal seeing as how Matt Stone and Trey Parker green-lighted us. Ok, so you want to know how to do it without squinting at tiny youtube videos? EASY

First off, Dailymotion videos are your friend. 90% of them are T.V Shows, but best of all, they can be played in FULL SCREEN, which is perfect for what we're after.

These sites, especially tv-links, were practically made for the Wii, easy to navigate and mostly dailymotion links, just chose your show, your episode and (if it hasnt been removed by DM yet, and usually they replace the broken links with a mirror soon after that happens), and watch away !

Songs that i like right now - Yo, i'm suggesting you BUY all of these songs... yes... BUY them, *cough*. There's a bit of everything going on here, some of you will have alot, if not all of the song's... good for you. I can't link you to download them or ill get in troublee but i suggest trying Purevolume, Myspace or Last.fm searches, because that's generally where i find alot of my music. By the way, don't be afraid to use the comments section, it would be much appreciated actually.

REVIEW : Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesound - I don't dislike Justin Timberlake. His 'Kutch' skit on SNL was gold, and he doesn't seem to be a stuck up bitcc like most of his colleagues. His first album was good, i don't personally like his style(s) of music, but i'll admit it was a very good pop album. Timbaland and The Neptunes must be making a killing. They have every pop superstar convinced that if their album doesn't sound like it was produced by either of those afore-mentioned music mogals, that it's going to FAIL. Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, even CHRIS MARTIN have all collaborated with them and the artists aren't being allowed to make their own music anymore. Futuresex sounds like a Timbaland album, not a Justin Timberlake album. Sexyback is a decent pop song, but it sounds so much like everything else that's raping the radio at the minute, that i can't stand it. The album is shallow, but that's to be expected, but you expect quality from someone with the resources JT has at his fingers and this is just crap. It's absoloutely CONSUMED with electronic beats and all that crap, if it's not you, don't go there ! I'm not saying Timbaland isn't brilliant at what he does, and i LOVE N*E*R*D, and it's fine when hip-hop artists and rap artists use these immensly talented individuals, but it's not pop music - and pop artists should start to recognize that and go back to doing what they do best. JT pull your finger out, this is piffle.

4/10 - 1 for Sexyback and 3 for My Love, this album is terrible

REVIEW : Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan - Technically, as a film, Borat fails. It barely holds a cohesive plot together, the production values are low (intentionally so) and it at first Borat seems to be on a vendetta against every minority group in the world. Technically, as a comedy, Borat surpasses everything else this year, not that that's saying much, the quality of movies this year has been quite poor aside from notables like 'Little Miss Sunshine', 'Kenny' and 'Snakes on a Plane'. No 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang', no 'Crash', not even a decent franchise movie (we're looking at you SUPERMAN). Cast all that aside and realise that you shouldn't be offended by Borat, because, like Snakes on a Plane, he's easing the urine out of you. He's clearly not anti-semitic, Sascha Baron Cohen IS a Jew ! This whole movie is one real-life spoof. Don't be afraid of Borat, be afraid of the gun dealer who reccomends the appropriate weapon to kill a Jew, be afraid of the 1000+ crowd of Americans at a rodeo willing to cheer for 'The killing of every man, woman and child in Iraq' but boo at someone else's (admittedly false, but they were oblivious) national anthem ! Borat is insightful, and while i probably enjoyed his segments on the Ali G Show more, this movie is brilliant at what it's aiming to do - to entertain and to inform.

REVIEW : Sarah Blasko - What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have - I love Sarah Blasko. She's the best female solo artist in Australia, and she's one of the best in the world (Fiona Apple being the best). 'What The Sea Wants' far surpasses it's successor, 'The Overture and The Underscore'. The Overture and The Underscore wasn't a great album, but featured a great voice. What The Sea Wants has both. The album is well paced, and there are plenty of highlights ('The Garden's End', '{explain}' and the spectacular 'Showstopper'), and you wont ever feel the need to skip particular tracks. Next year's ARIA's are going to be very very interesting, and we could see a rise in popularity for Blasko similair to what Wolfmother are experiencing after this year's ceremony. This is yet another outstanding release on the Aussie scene this year (The Grates, Wolfmother, The Cat Empire), and is easily up there with the best albums of 2006. Definite purchase.

9/10 - Class all around

REVIEW : My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade - This really goes against the grain. Emo's are lame, i mean... as South Park taught me... a group of conformists are just oxymoronic. Not only that, but I've always harboured a particular disliking towards My Chemical Romance. I don't care anymore... this album is way too good to ignore, they've earnt my respect... whatever, i just can't heap enough praise on them for this, the 'Sgt. Peppers of Screamo' as it is so often called, i'd say it's closer to the 'Night at The Opera of Screamo' because there is a huge Queen flavour pulsing through this album and it works so so well. By now you have heard 'Welcome to The Black Parade' - while brilliant, it's overplayed to the point where i can't really listen to it anymore, so even if you don't like that track, there is STILL hope for you ! This is one of those special albums, like Sufjan Stevens' 'Illinois' or Kasier Chiefs 'Employment' where there isn't a single bad track, and that's saying something... because it is a very diverse (but cohesive thanks to the continuing theme of 'The Patient' character) album. That's the other thing about My Chem that you may not be aware of. All of their albums are concept albums, they all carry a story or continuing theme, and 'The Black Parade' features a character called 'The Patient' who has recently found out he has cancer, I'm not going to go into that, because like blabbing the ending of a movie to someone who hasn't seen it, it's really a journey for you to go on with The Patient. The musical talents of My Chem are on show for all to see here, and they are pushed far beyond anything they've previously attempted, and succeed. The songwriting is brilliant, the music is brilliant, it's opened new doors for me personally, musically to explore. This is the album of the year

9.5/10 - As good as 2006 has dished up, superb.

REVIEW : Uffie - Pop The Glock - This is not an album review... it's a song review, because this is one of the best songs i've heard this year. Uffie probably needs an introduction, her real name is Anna-Catherine Hartley, claims to be from Miami, USA/Paris, France (don't ask)... and she's an angry young lady. Some of her lyrics are plain filthy, but when the result is this good, who cares. Pop The Glock has an M.I.A-style rap-hop thing going on, the vocals are as smooth as silk, as are the beats and this song is an aural delight. She's actually got a voice, something many female rappers lack. The production on the track is absoloutely top-notch and at 3:16 it doesn't overstay it's welcome. Uffie is a very very exciting talent, and when i get my hands on the album be prepared for a full-blown review.

9/10 - I don't wanna go splashing 10's around quitee yet

REVIEW: Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape - Don't blame me for the hideous title, that quote is a direct lift from 'Don't Get It Twisted', one of many cookie-cutter, Gwen-Stefani album tracks that populate 'The Sweet Escape'. This album isn't quite as bad as Gwen's terrible debut 'Love, Angel, Music, Baby'... it's definetly a step in the right direction for the next No Doubt album, and has some definite high-points ('Yummy', 'The Sweet Escape' and 'Early Winter' most particuarly) but overall is a huge dissapointment after years of brilliance with No Doubt. Only God knows why Gwen has decided since going solo she is a rapper, but Gwen, listen up... you're not, you're terrible at it in fact, and the only time you sound decent on this (or 'L.A.M.B' - see 'What You Waitin' For') is when you SING. You've got a good voice ! Use it ! If you like 'L.A.M.B', this is lightyears ahead... you'll love it. No Doubt fans will probably be mostly dissapointed, but i found a few welcome nuggets amongst the piles of rubbish here, and i'm glad i bought it.

6/10 - but Rock Steady was about a 9

Hello, not alot going on here right now... that should be resolved soon. This is pretty much going to be your run-of-the-mill review style blog... I'll be posting along with my good friend Steff telling you what you should ~~download~~ buyy in the ways of music/movies/tv/books/comics/games.. whatever we get our hands (or bandwith) on.
